Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and patient-focused Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our small private medical practice. The LPN plays an essential role in delivering high-quality patient care by assisting providers with clinical procedures, coordinating patient services, and ensuring an efficient and welcoming office environment. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team setting.
Essential Responsibilities
Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.
Prepare patients for examinations and assist the provider during office visits and minor procedures.
Document patient encounters accurately and promptly in the electronic health record (EHR).
Communicate test results, provider recommendations, and follow-up instructions to patients.
Respond to patient phone calls and portal messages, triaging concerns and routing them appropriately.
Coordinate prescription refills, referrals, laboratory orders, and diagnostic testing.
Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and healthy lifestyle practices.
Maintain exam rooms, monitor medical supplies, and ensure equipment is clean and functioning properly.
Adhere to infection control standards, HIPAA regulations, and office policies.
Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and administrative staff to provide exceptional patient care.
Assist with general office workflow and support team members as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
Requirements
Qualifications
Current, active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice.
Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
Current CPR/BLS certification.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency with electronic health records and standard office technology.
Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small team environment.
Preferred Experience
At least one year of experience in a physician office, family practice, internal medicine, or outpatient clinic preferred.
Familiarity with insurance referrals and prior authorizations is a plus.
